Make the whole party’s tokens at once
Player tokens should look like they belong together. Batch mode does that in one pass.
- 1
Drop in every portrait
Select or drag all the party’s images at once. They line up in the batch under the preview.
- 2
Frame each face
Click a portrait to adjust it and type the character’s name for its banner. Each keeps its own zoom, position and name.
- 3
Share one look
Style one token, then click “Use this look for all” to copy its border and colors.
- 4
Download the ZIP
Pick your VTT preset and download every character token in one file.
Character tokens that read at a glance
On a busy map, players need to find their token in a split second.
One color per side
Give the party a shared faction color and enemies another. Allies and summons can get a third.
Faces, not full bodies
Zoom so the head and shoulders fill the token. Full-body art is unreadable at grid size.
Names on every token
A name banner tells new players who is who, and keeps similar portraits apart on the map.
Mark class or role
Pick a border that fits: runes for the wizard, leaves for the druid, riveted iron for the fighter.
Keep NPCs distinct
Recurring NPCs get their own border style so players spot them across sessions.
Print them too
The 1 inch and 25 mm presets make tokens for paper minis and standees.

Questions
How do I make a character token for D&D?
Upload your character portrait, zoom until the face fills the circle, pick a border and colors, and download a transparent PNG. Use the VTT preset for Roll20, Foundry VTT or Owlbear Rodeo.
Can I make matching tokens for the whole party?
Yes. Drop every player’s portrait in at once. Each keeps its own crop, “Use this look for all” gives them the same border, and “All as ZIP” downloads the set.
Can I put the character’s name on the token?
Yes. Turn on the name banner (it starts on here) and each token shows its name across the bottom, in the border color. The name comes from the file name; change it in the Name field under the preview. Turn it off under Fill.
Where do I get a character portrait?
Use art you drew, commissioned or have permission to use, a screenshot from a character builder, or a photo for a modern-day game. Square images with the head near the middle work best.
What size should a player token be?
Player characters are usually Small or Medium, one grid square: 280 px for Roll20 or 400 px for Foundry VTT keeps them sharp when zoomed. For printed standees, 300 px is 1 inch at 300 DPI.
Is the character token maker free?
Yes, with no account and no watermark. Your portraits are processed in your browser and never uploaded.
